The Ford Transit Custom is the mid-sized van in the Ford range, and combines hard-working practicality with modern technology.
The Custom is fitted with the all-new Ford EcoBlue 2.0 litre TDCi engines. The fuel consumption is as low as 46.3mpg, whilst depending which output you go for the power can be up to 170 PS. Safety features of the Custom include Pre-Collision Assist, which warns you of the presence of vehicles and pedestrians in your path. If you don’t react to the warning, it will apply the brakes for you, reducing the likelihood of harm from collisions at speeds up to 50mph.
The loading area of the Custom is second to none. Loadspace lamps are fitted as standard, and ultra-bright LED lighting can be installed if required. There’s space for 3 Euro pallets and 8’ by 4’ boards can be easily carried flat on the floor. Overall there’s 6.8 cubic metres of space in the long wheelbase version, and the widest opening side door for a vehicle of its kind makes the Custom’s space easy to utilise. A unique feature of the Custom is the load-through storage area, which allows items of up to 3m through the rear doors and into a space under the dual passenger seats, even if you go for the shorter wheelbase option. This feature means you can keep your valuable items protected inside of your van rather than unprotected on top.
The level of technology continues inside the cab as well, with Ford SYNC. This advanced hands-free technology lets you use a range of mobile functions and more, all without taking your hands from the wheel. You can choose music, take and make calls, listen to text messages all while driving. AppLink also lets you control a range of popular apps and Emergency Assistance automatically calls Emerency Services in the event of an accident and transmits vital data such as your location.
