How Buying A Van From Us Works

We know that buying a commercial vehicle is a large investment for your business which can be stressful and confusing at times so, we have taken the trouble to highlight what you need to know so that you are prepared and make the right decision for you and your business.

As an independent arm of the UK's largest commercial vehicle dealer group we are able to tap into the purchasing power of Imperial Commercials but retain our independence to offer the best van deals.

 

Step 1- Deciding what you want...
Many people have an idea of what vehicle they require which is often based on their current van or advice from various sources.  However, this may not always lead to the best van for them or their business and with the huge range of products available in today's market you can easily be misled. bestvandeals.com encourages you to browse our website and talk to one of our experienced LCV sales advisors who can help you to find the right solution to suit your business and budget.

Bestvandeals.com is an independent van retailer and as such our sales team can recommend the best vehicle for you without bias to any manufacturer.
To qualify your needs our sales team will ask you various questions (what do you use the van for, what sort of load do you carry, how many miles will you do a day etc) to ensure the product we supply fulfills all the day to day requirements of your business.
 

Step 2 - What to do with your current vehicle...
At bestvandeals.com we are happy to take your current vehicle (which needn't be a van!) in part exchange to smooth the process of changing your van.  The sales person that you are dealing with will provide a valuation for your vehicle with pleasure and to do so we will need some relevant information. This includes:

  • Make and Model of Vehicle inc. wheelbase and engine type / size
  • Registration Number
  • Year of Manufacture
  • Colour of Vehicle
  • Current Speedo reading
  • MOT remaining
  • Tax remaining
  • Details of the vehicles condition including all damage
  • Service History details
  • Any outstanding finance
  • Number of owners

 

These details are necessary for the sales team to offer the best price for your vehicle. On acceptance of the price quoted for your old vehicle and placing a new vehicle order with us we will send you a part exchange purchase declaration to sign, detailing the information provided above.  This is a legal document to confirm the agreement.  At this time we will need the original V5 log book, MOT certificate, any service history and settlement information.

If you are VAT registered we will also require an invoice for the sale of part exchange to bestvandeals.com

 

Step 3 - How to fund it...
When buying your van from bestvandeals.com you have a full range of payment options open to you and our helpful sales team can guide you through each of the options and find a payment method that not only suits you but your business too.
We are able to offer the following payment methods; Cash, traditional Hire Purchase, Finance Lease, Contract Hire or Contract Purchase. If you need any additional information on any of these finance methods please look at our “Finance Explained” section on financing your van.

If you do require finance (i.e. Hire Purchase, Finance Lease, Contract Purchase or Contract Hire) as part of the UK`s largest independent commercial vehicle dealer group we have access to the best rates in the market. In order for us to arrange finance for you we will need to ask a number of questions about you and your business.

Before we can proceed we will need to know:

  • Contact details for your business (i.e. address, telephone numbers, email address, nature of business etc)
  • Date business established
  • Details of business partners / directors (i.e. address, post code, date of birth, marital status, residential status bank details & previous address if less than 5 years at present address)
  • Vat number / company registration number (if applicable)
  • Business bank details (i.e. account number, sort code; how long you have banked with them)

 

At the point of order we will take a small holding deposit to secure the vehicle for you and this can be paid over the phone by credit or debit card for your convenience. 

 

Step 4 - What you need to provide...
Once your finance is approved and we have a deposit from you to secure the vehicle, our sales team will contact you to discuss the finance approval to ensure we meet our obligation to you under the FSA regulations. At this point of the procedure we will request a selection of proofs of identity that are required by the finance houses to avoid finance and identity fraud.

The proof of identification documents required is as follows:

  • Driving License (Paper and card parts if you have a photo license)
  • Valid Passport
  • Two Utility Bills (must be within 3 months / 90 days old) and can consist of Gas Bill, Water Bill, Electricity Bill, Bank Statements (Must show transactions) or Credit Card Statements (Must show transactions)

 

The finance houses will not accept any form of telephone bills (mobile or land line). The proofs can be scanned, emailed, faxed or posted to us but they all must be legible


Step 5 - What we give you...
Our sales staff will then send you an official order form, which will set out the pricing and vehicle agreement. This is obviously subject to finance approval. Once finance has been approved, we will send you an official confirmation that will detail:

  • Date of order
  • Vehicle make and model
  • Provisional delivery date
  • Colour of vehicle
  • Vehicle extras (i.e. ply lining, roof racks etc.)
  • Delivery Address
  • Finance payments
  • `To do list`

 

It is important for you to check that all the details are correct as per your order then sign and either fax or post this back to us to confirm.
Step 6 - What should you expect...

Two weeks prior to delivery, your finance documents will be sent to you to check, sign and send back to bestvandeals.com in a S.A.E. Once you have purchased your new vehicle and it is ready for dispatch, we shall arrange FREE DELIVERY to your door, provided you live on mainland UK. For other locations, we will be very happy to quote a delivery cost. On the day of delivery, the delivery agent will call you directly when they are one hour away from your chosen delivery address.

When you take delivery of the vehicle you will need to check the vehicle fully and ensure that:

  • There are no dents, scratches or stone chips
  • The vehicles tax disk is present
  • Any relevant retro fitted items are present (i.e. Ply Lining, Roof Racks, Pipe carriers, Beacons etc.

 

In the unlikely event that your vehicle does arrive damaged, scratched or stone chipped you must contact us immediately. The affected areas must be marked in the corresponding areas on the vehicle delivery note; if damage is not marked on the delivery note we will be unable to address the damage. Repairs will require photographs/estimates for us to proceed with the repair.

If all is fine with the vehicle and you are happy with it you will need to sign for the acceptance of the vehicle.

If you have agreed a part exchange with the member of our sales staff the delivery driver will check that the condition of your old vehicle is to the correct standard from that you had stated and signed for on the Condition Report; and drive the part exchanged vehicle back to us.
